Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
Having finally lost some of my excess weight (still a way to go yet!) I'm now looking to change, ooh... everything else in my life! Well, not everything. But there are other challenges I want to tackle now, as well as keeping my weight loss going.
Season:
Season 2
Starting Date:
September 11, 2008
Intentions & Goals:
Right! I had a bit of a problem partway through Season 1 which resulted in me taking three weeks off before resuming, with the result that I haven't quite finished Season 1 yet, but in order to cram Season 2 in before seeing the family for yuletide, I'm starting now and overlapping the seasons a little. So...

Season 1 intentions
Health
* Lose another twenty pounds. - ACHIEVED!
* Reduce my body fat by five points (from 28% to 23%). - ACHIEVED!

Exercise (a means to the end of health, but also an end in itself)
* Cycle at least 600 miles. This doesn't sound like a hell of a lot because I currently do more than 6 miles a day anyway. But I'm going to change focus a little and reduce my cycling in order to do the next one... - ACHIEVED!
* Do a 5km run. I've got a training schedule for this which is supposed to take you from a complete beginner to running 5km within eight weeks. - ACHIEVED!

Financial abundance through creativity and general brilliance (or "making loads of dosh in an enjoyable way")
*Find something that I can make and sell.
*I have two websites that I have been working on, on and off, for ages, and my intention is to get them both properly up and running within the 100 days. Lot of research, writing, and probably figuring out the odd bit of computer stuff. The ultimate goal is to have these sites making me money on two fronts: directing people to shopping sites in a very gentle way, and perhaps more importantly, I've put a lot of research into these sites, to the extent that I can honestly claim to gained some considerable expertise in the subject areas covered (one is about a musical subject, the other about a comedy subject) and hopefully once these sites are running, it may lead to offers of work, maybe a book...
*De-clutter and sell stuff. And with the proceeds...
*Reduce or pay off credit card debts.

Mental decluttering, refocusing, and all that jazz
* Meditate daily.
* Learn and use EFT. (Connected to which, I'm going to do the Liv Delicious 7 day course... which may be a rash promise as I don't really know what's in it yet! Oh the excitement of the unknown!)
* More positive thinking generally. I also like the idea of a Complaint Free bracelet and will use the idea (even if I don't get an actual bracelet).

And finally (for now)...
*Sleep better. Specific first goal: lights out by midnight.

Season 2 intentions
Health and fitness
*Cycle at least 1000 miles in 100 days.
*Give yoga a proper go.
*Try kickboxing (I have a book on this).
*Get my body fat down to 15% or less.

Financial abundance through creativity and general brilliance
*Get my other website up and running. (Carried forward from S1)
*Write an ebook or two. Probably not for sale, but will be a start toward possible future projects.
*Look into creating "passive income"
*Get a paid writing commission.

Learning cool stuff
*Learn to speed-read
*Learn some Gaelic
*Learn about birds (because I know nothing about them at the moment. I know rooks are black, that's about all)

Other things
*Organise time better generally
*Get all my family christmas presents bought by the end of October, yes, October. I'm not having a last-minute rush like last year!

Free resources

Running programme: I'm using the eight-week 5km training schedule downloadable free from Jog Scotland.

Liv Delicious: Tips, tapping scripts and games to improve body image and confidence and help to change your life, sign up at livdelicious.com

Complaint Free: I haven't actually used this but having mentioned it above, here's the link: a complaint free world

Free audio: I like the free relaxation audio from Natalie Dee, even though she does do that weird thing of emphasising odd words that Paul McKenna also does.

PDF reader: Contrary to what 99% of ebook publishers tell you, you don't need Acrobat Reader to open .pdf files. I use Foxit Reader which is nice to use and opens in hardly any time at all. Windows only (though there's a Linux version in beta). I use version 2.0 on Windows 98, which isn't officially supported but I've had no problems with it.

Season 1, Day 100: The official end of it all

Much like the hundred years' war, my first 100 Day Reality Challenge has run a little over schedule. That awkward pause in the middle has rather muddied the waters, but I think it was the right decision. Anyway, 121 days later, here I am, still alive, better off in some ways, and not much changed in others. My original goals, then. * Lose another twenty pounds. Did this well within the 100 days. Today I weighed in at 147 pounds, which I think is something like 35 pounds less than I weighed at… Continue

Season 1, Day 99 / Season 2, Day 12: Et cetera

I haven't blogged in a while, because I haven't done much in a while. So much for that frenzy of activity I was going to have. I haven't been out running in over a week, though I have cycled 154 miles, which puts me ahead of my target to cycle 1000 miles in season 2. Dogs are still depressing me, though there is some good news on that front in that the dog that some idiot used to let roam loose around the village hasn't been seen in a while and may be dead. I'm still hula hooping and still read… Continue

Season 1, Day 90 / Season 2, Day 3: Not happy

Didn't really achieve much. It was raining all day and the dog problem is really depressing me. I didn't write anything much and I probably overate and will have put on more weight than I can reasonably lose by next weigh-in, and everything's shit. I did read most of "God Is Not Great" though, and hula hooped quite a bit. It doesn't really make up for all the bad stuff though.

Season 1, Day 89 / Season 2, Day 2: I wear the crown, but I could use some body armour too

Apparently, owners of predatory animals have now started lying in wait for me. Today I spent 25 minutes waiting for someone with a dog to move from their position at the corner of the only road into the village so that I could travel the last 200 yards home. I am not pleased. I saw an ad on the telly the other day for a charity which rehomes dogs. I think I should get in touch and ask if they can rehome all the local dogs as far away from me as possible. There are plenty of islands off the coast… Continue

Season 2, Day 1: Here I Go Again

Well, this is something new. I am now a pioneer of simultaneous seasonality! A new set of intentions, and 100 days to cram it all in before it all falls apart for yuletide. I'll really get cracking tomorrow, but today I've figured out what I want to do. Season 1 (still in progress) has been frustrating in some ways but hugely successful in others. A few intentions are carried forward, in particular writing my second website, for which I want to do 100 articles within the first 50 days. A relate… Continue
