My Great Grandma is 105 Today!
I feel so blessed to be part of a family celebrating the 105th Birthday of a fabulous lady! ... My Grandma Monnie!
Yes, I said 105! Can you believe it? .... She is now very frail, but when I was chatting to her we were reminiscing about her huge birthday party we hosted for her 100th Birthday and she mentioned how much fun she had dancing (she could actually still walk then) and she got her letter from the Queen. Grandma then told me how nice it was to have those great memories.
It was that moment I thought - "Yeah, I have to create some great memories myself" ..... so with the help of this community I'm committing to create some awesome experiences, so that I have fantastic stories to tell my grandkids.
Some other funny things she has said to me recently:
Last year for Mother's Day she was nursing my newborn baby - I asked Grandma if she was a bit heavy and she replied tersely "I haven't dropped one yet"
And ... this is a classic ....."Tracey, don't worry about the housework, just make sure your hair is done nicely and your husband will be happy!" - hahahahha! I'll take her advice!
What a fabulous woman and I feel blessed to have such a wonderful family - I LOVE MY LIFE!
