Hello Sonya! I'm an art student as well! I'm currently studying animation, but I have a background in traditional art as well!
One thing I love to do is to go out life drawing. My favorite place is to go to the zoo, since I can spend the whole day there drawing animals. I bring some markers, pens and soft pencils and do lots of sketches! It really helps you appreciate the animals and help you with your anatomy. Which all artists need to work on :) If you don't have a zoo, then you can find a place with horses and hang out and draw them.
Observational drawing is one of the best ways to improve! I can tell you that!

Have fun drawing!

Hi Sonya

Hmm, hard to say much without a clear idea of exactly what you want to do with regards to horses and your artwork.

Are you able to include a bit more information.
Are you wanting to start a business from this?
Is it that you want to improve your drawings of horses?

Possibly start with the end in mind. Where exactly do you see yourself in this area, a successful artist who is sort after by horse owners world wide to produce beautiful portraits of their beloved equine?(is that how you spell it, lol)

Anyway, when you have a clear idea of what it is you want to do with this, picture it clearly, ask "how do I start this off" and keep yourself open and aware for possible signs and hints from the universe as to what your looking for.

Not much help I know
but give it a try and I would really be interested in your ideas and what you have planned
Cheers

Hi Sonya,

I was an art student too. I graduated with a degree in Illustration a few months ago. I agree with Caitlyn, although I'd try finding a barn or equestrian training site. I'd find one, or call ahead if you want, and see if you could spend a day or volunteer and help out with the horses.Even try a 4h club. Take some pics, write down ideas that pop into your head, and note anything habits the horses have.

Note the horses colors, movements, temper, and their living spaces.

Hope this helps!

I'm big on horses too. Find some and hang out with them. Their energy is life changing though I suspect you may already know that intuitively. Your winged foal is precious.
